What is Feng Shui?

Literally meaning wind and water, feng shui was developed about 4,000 years ago in China by people who lived off the land. These people studied the relationship of the land to their homes and farms. They noticed how rivers and hills affected their fortunes and their families. This school of Feng Shui is known as the Form School. Over the centuries feng shui was adopted by the Chinese royals, and was studied, and sophisticated by scholars and philosophers creating more precise schools of Feng Shui that would be used inside and outside one's environment to create prosperity.

Today, feng shui is being recognized by millions of people who want to create abundance and prosperity, and live and work in harmony with their environment. People have also used feng shui to help sell their homes faster and get the price they are requesting for the sale on their home.

Feng shui is a set of guidelines and principles which help us understand how to modify physical aspects of our environment to create the life we desire. With feng shui I help you arrange your surroundings in order to direct natural energies to flow in a healthful way. The Chinese call this energy chi.

Luck Factor

According to Chinese philosophers, life presents us with three kinds of luck: Heaven Luck, Mankind Luck, and Earth Luck.

Heaven Luck is the luck given to us at birth; what location and family we are born into. In human form, these are things over which we have no control. This also is linked to something called ancestral chi.

Humankind Luck is the luck we create for ourselves. We manifest this through thought, attitude, education, and action. We ultimately have control over these. The law of attraction applies – Ask and you shall receive!

This is where Earth Luck comes in. If our environment is not in sink with what we want to create in our lives, we can arrange and compliment our environment with what is most auspicious. This is Feng Shui.

Why work with me?
Unlike many Feng Shui practitioners who work from the location of the front door regardless of direction to determine which areas are for Prosperity, Good Fortune & Abundance – (The Southeast), or Romance & Love – (The Southwest), etc., I use a compass and take measurements (or request floor plans) to align the different areas with the physical directions. It is my belief that using Traditional Compass Feng Shui instead of the Black Hat School of feng shui creates a more powerful effect because it works with the directions and lay lines of the land – the Earth's magnetic pull. Indigenous cultures throughout the world use the cardinal directions in ritual and in creating sacred places. My approach connects you to the power of the earth and the heavens (such as the moon's pull on the tides).

In addition to mapping the various directions and providing feng shui information, I chart the unseen energies of your space, using dowsing rods. This allows me to identify places where there is stagnant energy (chi) or energy out of alignment. It also allows me to identify power lines, having a visible indicator of imbalance and/or positive chi flow.

During the session, I will assist you in implementing the simple changes. Instead of being left merely with a long list of changes to make, we will begin implementing changes on the spot, allowing you to begin to feel the effects of Feng Shui immediately.

Unseen Energies; What is Geopathic Stress?
Geopathic stress means Earth trauma. This trauma is a distortion to, or disruption of, the Earth's natural energy field. This can results in harmful radiation emitting from the Earth's surface. Natural energies from the earth, including Geopathic Stress, affect the energy within a home or office.

Disruption to these energy fields either through man-made means (such as drilling and development), or natural causes (ie: mother nature - earth quakes, landslides, volcanic eruptions, etc) can affect the current of the Earth's energy field; shifting from a positive polarity to a negative polarity. This may adversely affect the energy field of anything within the disruption line, including homes, buildings, people, animals and vegetation. Feng Shui and energy techniques can remedy these disruptions and bring forward the most supportive and healthy energies for harmonious living.

How long is a typical consultation?
A customized and comprehensive consultation for a home averages 3 hours of on site work and 1 to 2 hours of preparation in advance. Prior to your consultation, you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire to help me understand what you would like to create, and the areas of your life that you would like to focus on. I ask you to include a questionnaire for each family member in your home. Also, if you have a large home or business please provide the floor plans - if small enough, please take measurements of each room so we can map it out when I get there. Each consultation is unique and tailored to your personal situation.

What If I have questions after the consultation?
At no additional charge, I will answer any questions you may have on implementing my recommendations. My intention is to develop long-term relationships with my clients, and celebrate while you and your love ones transform your lives.

How much does a consultation cost?
The cost and length of the consultation has many factors: size of the building, number of family members, or staff, your location, complexity of issues, and other items which all factor into the scope and length of your consultation.

Your initial consultation includes preparation of documents including your personal feng shui best directions (at no cost), mileage, and a complimentary stress testing, and space clearing of your home, room or office.

Mileage is included in your initial consultation if you live in San Diego County. I do not always have time to perform the space clearing in the initial consultation, so I request a mileage fee if I need to come back. This would also be a wonderful time to schedule another appointment to have me look over the changes you have made, and the enhancements that you have added, or have me help you with placement and ask additional questions.

The cost and length of the consultation has many factors: size of the building, number of family members, or staff, your location, complexity of issues, and other items which all factor into the scope and length of your consultation.

My initial hourly consultation rate for feng shui is $100 per hour for the first three hours of consultation, and then $85 per hour after that.  If I come back to help with placement or shopping I charge $85 per hour, plus mileage. 

Before we begin, what I need from you is your floor plans and the birth dates (including the years) of the people that will spend a good amount of time in the dwelling. The first three people are included in your initial consult fee. After that, I charge $50 per person for the preparation of documents.

If you do not have a floor plan, it may take me some initial time to measure and draft the dwelling (I charge $85 per hour for this ~ and it will be a rough draft).  If you would like to draft it yourself, please make sure the measurements are accurate because it will affect where the compass directions fall in the sectors of your dwelling. Also, make sure the paper is large enough to work with. This depends on the size of your dwelling of course. You can also seek professional drafting help, which will be the most accurate floor plans, and sometimes the city or former owners of the dwelling may have the floor plans.

During the initial consultation, if time permits, I will assist you in implementing simple changes. Instead of being left merely with a long list of changes to make, we will begin implementing changes on the spot, allowing you to begin to feel the effects of Feng Shui immediately.

If you need help with organizing on a deeper level (cleaning, paperwork, etc.) or moving heavy/large pieces of furniture, I am implementing a team to help you with this. They are individual business people with their own set fees.

Some people want to understand how feng shui works on different levels and it is my goal to EMPOWER YOU with an understanding of how I apply feng shui principles so you may incorporate them into your environment. I will clearly explain my recommendations so you understand how to enhance your environment and the reasons for the recommendations.

Results?
Congratulations on your commitment to change and transformation. How soon you actually implement my recommendations is key to your transformation. Your personal level of commitment and attitude towards what you want to create is also a key factor in seeing and feeling results using feng shui. Environment and thought process need to align together to create happiness and abundance. The results you experience and the areas in which you focus on are a direct reflection of aligning these powers. The laws of attraction do work if you focus on what you want – and not on what you do not want. Attention to the environment is a powerful tool in transformation – The rest depends on your intention!

After implementing recommendations, aware clients start feeling changes in there environment immediately. Highly motivated clients can start experiencing results within days and others within weeks or months. Again attention and intention are keys to the process. As you know, divine/universal timing in manifesting many dreams and goals cannot be forced or manipulated. However, when you are ready your new sanctuary will protect and support you while your transitions come into PLAY.

Please do not view feng shui as a "quick fix" that will make all your troubles disappear overnight. Feng shui prepares your external world to create what you desire in your internal world. Being an active participant empowers you in transforming your own life. Feng shui is a way of life, not a "one-shot deal".
